VFG002454

Help to interpret the results

Three outputs have been generated:
General: this result contains the description and frequency of the selected Virulence factors VFG002454, of which KO pathways and KO modules it is part. Additionally, its occurence in the database is reported.
Proteins list: list of occurences of the Virulence factors within the database. 1 occurences are identified. The table reports the orthogroup, the organism in which each occurrence has been found, and the locus tag enriched by start and stop position, strand, gene name and product.
Clicking on the Ortohgroup name or locus you will be redirected to further info.
Profiles: Phylogenetic tree annotated with
- the presence of the Virulence factor(s) of interest within all the genomes of the database (first column)
- the size of the orthogroup(s) in which the reported Virulence factors has been clustered.
In red the Virulence factors with positive hit(s) in the corresponding genome.
In green the discrepencies between orthogroup clustering and Virulence factors prediction. Green homologs (same orthogroup) are not positive hit(s) for the considered Virulence factors.

Variations within orthogroups may be due to the clustering of multi domain proteins or because of erroneous homolog clustering or Virulence factors prediction.

Description

Protein Type III secretion system protein BsaX
VF ID VF0428
Category Effector delivery system
Protein ID WP_004187417
Characteristics Mxi-SpaA like T3SS, shares homology to Salmonella SPI-1 and Shigella T3SSs; Two additional T3SSs are discovered in B. Pseudomallei. T3SS1 is only present in B. pseudomallei and not in Burkholderia mallei or Burkholderia thailandensis, whereas T3SS2 and T3SS3 (Bsa) are present in all three species. T3SS1 and T3SS2 are closely related to the T3SS of the plant pathogens R. solanacearum and Xanthomonas spp. T3SS1 and T3SS2 are required during B. pseudomallei infection of tomato plants but not for infection of hamsters.
Function Delivering effector proteins into host cells to manipulate host cell functions
Mechanism Three effectors: BopE, homolog of SopE and SopE2 of Salmonella, functions as GTPase involving bacterial invasion. BopA, homolog of IcsB of Shigella, suppresses autophagy. BopC, function unkown.
